The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has appointed John M. Anderson, Jr. as its Director of Siting Policy. In his new role, Anderson will lead Association efforts on siting issues including wildlife policies, land use, federal and state agency siting policies, visual resource management, sound and public health, and radar and airspace conflicts.
Anderson joins AWEA with over 18 years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, regulatory and analytical fields. Most recently, he was Eastern Regional Manager of Environmental Affairs for BP Wind Energy. Anderson holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and Management and a minor in Environmental Law from the University of Rhode Island.
