South Korea is expanding its activities in the renewable energy business. Inter alia, the government plans to install 500 wind turbines with a capacity of 2,500MW off the country's west coast. As a consequence, GL Garrad Hassan has now a representative on-site in Seoul, South Korea to provide locally services and support for designer, manufacturers and developers of renewable energy projects.
Mr Jone Jung Bae Oh will be the new Business Development Manager for South Korea. He has a PH. D. in Mechanical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, USA and comprehensive experience in the wind energy industry. GL's Renewables business segment is already present and working in the South Korean market, delivering wind turbine design, measurements, certification and project consultancy.
