Spain-based Iberdrola will merge Community Energy Inc.´s business into its operations, which will allow Community Energy to accelerate its U.S. wind energy development.
The Spanish electric company owns 3,600MW of wind energy capacity and has dedicated a 500-member team to renewable energy. The company plans to develop more than 10,000MW of renewable energy worldwide by the end of 2011. Community Energy will be a part of Iberdrola´s U.S. strategy and will remain a separate company. Its executive and senior management team will remain intact.
