EDP Renovaveis (EDPR) and Engie have set up a US arm of its 50/50 offshore wind power joint venture Ocean Winds (OW).
Named OW North America, the new company will hold a 50% share of Mayflower Wind, the company behind the 804MW Mayflower Wind project, to be installed off the coast of Massachusetts in partnership with Shell New Energies US. OW North America will also take EDPR's role as a partner in the Redwood Coast consortium that is developing an up to 150MW floating offshore wind farm off the Northern California coast.
