Multibrid Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH and DOTI (German offshore test field and infrastructure-GmbH & Co. KG) have signed the contract for the installation of six Multibrid M5000 offshore wind energy turbines for the German offshore test field 45 km north of Borkum.
The wind turbines will be erected in the third quarter of 2008. The contract bundle contains the support structures, turbines, installation, commissioning and an O&M agreement. The 5MW turbines will be built on tripods, three-legged steel structures that are anchored with piles in the seabed. The hub height of the M5000 will be approximately 90 meters above sea level, the water depth is around 30 meters. The production of the nacelles will be carried out in the new 3.500 square meter big manufacturing hall of Multibrid, located at Bremerhaven's Labrador harbour.
