Siemens Power Generation (PG) will further expand its presence in the growing wind power sector with the acquisition of Bremen-based AN Windenergie GmbH. An acquisition agreement to that effect was signed with the current shareholders on November 2, 2005, in Bremen. The approval of the German anti-trust authorities has already been issued and closing can be completed before the end of the current quarter.

The purchase price was not disclosed. AN Windenergie has a workforce of approximately 200. In Germany, the company has to date installed 1,300 wind power systems with a combined capacity of approximately 1,300MW. The company sells and maintains wind power systems with individual turbine ratings up to 3.6MW. Since 1989, AN Windenergie had been the exclusive sales and service partner of Bonus Energy and has been active for Siemens Wind Power since Siemens acquired the Danish wind power company in late 2004.
