Skanska has signed a contract for a confidential client, to build a wind farm in Chile for US$ 76 million. The construction contract will be included in the bookings for Skanska LA in the first quarter of 2012.
The project will consist of 50 turbines with an installed capacity of 115MW. Skanska will be responsible for all the balance of plant scope under an EPC scheme. The scope includes planning, design, procurement and construction of all roads, foundations, buildings, and electrical systems including two substations and a 1x220 kV transmission line. The wind farm will be connected to the Chilean national grid. Works have already commenced and the project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013.
