Sowitec has established their subsidiary in Nairobi, Kenya. The company is planning to capture Africa with a team of local professionals starting with the development of wind farms and solar parks in Kenya beginning of 2016.

Kenya aims to generate some 10% of the country's total capacity by 2030 by renewable energy. Favourable wind resources have been detected in various parts of Kenya with wind speeds ranging from 8 to 14 m/s.
