One year after winning European R&D funding as member of the ROMEO consortium, Uptime Engineering (Austria) has won its second EU funded project. Whereas the ongoing ROMEO project aims to reduce the cost of wind energy through digitalisation of operations and maintenance, this latest project entitled ReaLCoE focuses on the development, installation, testing and operation of the next generation of large scale wind energy converters.
It is expected that the scale of the machines to be developed will be in excess of 10MW, breaking barriers in terms of scale and power output. Uptime Engineering is specialised in system reliability, and serves a range of companies and industries with its solutions. The ReaLCoE project is led by Senvion started on 1 May 2018 and will have a total duration of three and a half years. The funding was awarded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme.
