During 2012, Vattenfall has received permissions to go ahead with planning for four new wind farms. In the years 2012-2016 they will invest another € 4,2 billion in wind power generation.

In Germany, they have received consent for a new onshore wind farm named Forst Briesnig. The 250MW Pen y Cymoedd wind energy project in Wales has been granted development consent. In Denmark, they are planning a new wind farm at Tamholt in Jutland. Recently they also were granted all permits for Beaufort, a yet to be planned wind farm with a capacity of 340MW in the Netherlands. These plans mean that they will also employ another approximately 200 people with wind power competence.
