The Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse has awarded the research partners WinJi and the Swiss university BFH funding (0.5M CHF) for their research project. The research aims to improve performance and predictability of renewable assets by developing machine learning algorithms.
The researchers will develop two new software modules for condition-based predictive maintenance planning and accurate power production forecasting in renewable assets, and integrate them in the WinJi TruePower platform. The first module aims to reduce the operational cost and downtime by making use of condition monitoring data available in most modern wind turbines. The second module aims to enable a more accurate planning of the power generation and thus a reduction of the market price risk. The modules will be tested first with an implementation partner before integration in the WinJi TruePower platform.
