Spain’s Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribera, and the President of the Spanish Wind Energy Association, Juan Diego Díaz, have endorsed the ‘Spanish Wind Charter’.
The Charter outlines strategies to expedite the growth of wind energy in Spain while maximising its societal and economic advantages. It delineates six key areas for advancing the wind energy sector and specifies the necessary tools to implement these strategies:
- Enhancing visibility and resilience in wind energy planning.
- Improving the design of wind energy auctions to consider non-price criteria alongside prices.
- Facilitating better coordination among wind energy companies.
- Increasing predictability and fostering long-term agreements.
- Monitoring international trade practices to prevent unfair competition.
- Strengthening Spain’s wind energy manufacturing capabilities.
