Eurowind Energy and DEIF to retrofit V80 wind turbines

In a joint retrofit project, Danish wind energy companies Eurowind Energy and DEIF are breathing new life into eight Vestas V80-2.0 wind turbines that had reached end-of-life after 15 years at a German wind farm.

 

By refurbishing the V80 turbines the service life is extended by 10 to 15 years. With new DEIF control technology, the turbines are expected to run more efficiently and optimise power yield. The refurbished turbines will be installed at a new wind farm in Scotland later this year.
