The consortium led by Hamburg-based ONP Management and Boston-based Renewable Resources International has announced the acquisition of European and United States patents for its Feederdock, a Jones Act compliant offshore wind installation solution.
Additionally, the consortium has completed the Basic Design phase in collaboration with Tractebel Overdick and verified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The completion of the Basic Design marks the commencement of the construction phase. The Feederdock vessel features a 3,200-tonne crane capable of reaching heights up to 182 meters above deck. With a leg length of 131 meters, the vessel can install wind turbines in water depths of up to 70 meters.
