Halo Energy, manufacturer of shrouded micro wind turbines, has secured a site to conduct third-party certification, which will qualify the Halo-6.0 wind turbine for federal renewable energy tax credits. Preparation of the certification site in Kern County, California is scheduled to begin in Q2 2019.
Halo Energy self-validated its turbine performance using data collected in 2018 from a test turbine in Massachusetts. The federal renewable electricity production tax credit (PTC) and business energy investment tax credit (ITC) allow Halo Energy wind turbine users to either reduce their taxable income by approximately $0.019/kWh (for PTC) or achieve a credit equal to 30 percent of the wind turbine and installation costs (for ITC).
