For the first time in Germany, manufacturers of nacelles for wind energy turbines have access to a full-scale test stand for complete nacelles in the multi-megawatt range, the Dynamic Nacelle Testing Laboratory (DyNaLab). HBM Test and Measurement (HBM) has supplied the complete test and measuring equipment for acquiring electrical quantities.
The Fraunhofer IWES nacelle test stand enables all manufacturers of wind energy turbines to simulate field trials under realistic conditions. Electrical network simulation with 44 MVA installed inverter power is a key element of the test stand. The data acquisition system and the transient recorder from the Genesis High Speed series as well as the associated Perception software from HBM are used in the test laboratory. The data acquisition instrument synchronously acquires both the currents and the voltages at the network connection points of wind turbines of up to 36 kV with very high sample rates. The measurement system's modular architecture also allows the overall concept to be adapted to new customer requirements at any time.
