MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has received a 23 MW order from European Energy A/S in cooperation with their local partner BMC Energi for the Måde project in the port of Esbjerg in Denmark.
The project will utilise two V164-8.0 MW turbines, with the main purpose to test the installation methods and operation & maintenance procedures of the turbine onshore, prior to the commencement of serial deliveries offshore. Furthermore, a series of tests on the V117-3.45 MW turbines will serve the purpose of further improving the performance of the 3 MW platform. The project includes a 20-year full scope service agreement, with delivery of the turbines expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2015.
