Mingyang’s floating wind turbine platform arrives at Qingzhou IV offshore wind farm

After a voyage of more than 191 nautical miles and over 50 hours from Guangzhou, China, Mingyang’s floating wind turbine platform, OceanX, has reached the Qingzhou IV Offshore Wind Farm.

 

OceanX has a towing design draft of 5.5 metres and a total platform weight of approximately 12,000 tonnes. To ensure a safe passage, the platform’s blades were carefully adjusted to minimise its aerial profile.
