Taller Wind Towers doing business as Northstar Wind announces the completion of Phase I of their modular demonstration tower based on their tower design for large scale wind turbines. This 23-meter Demonstration Tower proves the concept in real-life applications.
Taller Wind Towers, LLC, was formed in partnership with Grupo Verzatec, S.A. de C.V. and Northstar Endeavors, LLC to transition the Northstar modular tower into commercial production. This partnership has strengthened the engineering, sales, manufacturing and financial resources available to achieve this phase of the development. The tower is located near its headquarters in Blair, Nebraska. Next step (Phase II) will include the full scale installation of a 100-plus-meter demonstration tower with a 2+ MW turbine atop. Phase II will commence later this year with the expectation of commercial production beginning in 2012. This technology in wind tower design, cost-effectively enables tower heights of 100 - 140 meters and beyond.
