Onyx Insight has introduced a blade root connection monitoring system. The maintenance solution utilises the company’s ecoPitch sensing hardware and aims to provide early visibility of issues, with up to 12 months of warning before a failure occurs.The technology has been tested for two years on over 3,000 blades across 1,000 turbines. The blade root connection monitoring system can be deployed in two ways: using ecoPitch as a permanent monitoring system or, alternatively, ecoPitch Portable can be employed as a temporary solution, allowing for a snapshot of asset status at any given time.
