Rødsand II offshore wind power plant has begun operations in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Denmark. E.ON opened the Rødsand II project, with 90 Siemens offshore wind turbines with a ceremonial act.
Siemens erected the 90 wind turbines, each with 2.3MW capacity and a rotor diameter of 93 meters, in just 122 days, six weeks ahead of schedule. Siemens Energy received the order for the construction of Rødsand II from German-based utility E.ON in 2008. This new large-scale project is located to the south of the island of Lolland in the Baltic Sea, and an installed capacity of 207MW.
