DP Energy is planning to carry out a geophysical survey beyond the 12 nautical mile limit at their proposed Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park off the coasts of Cork and Waterford, Ireland.
The survey covers approximately 900 Km2. The work will be undertaken by Hydrographic Surveys of Crosshaven onboard the Commissioners of Irish Lights vessel, ILV Granuaile. The Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park is a 1GW floating offshore wind project. The upcoming survey of the Inis Ealga Marine Park location will provide valuable information on the make-up of the seabed and this will be used to inform the project design, siting of turbines and construction methods for the proposed park. The results will also assist in the preparation of specifications for additional future geophysical and geotechnical surveys. To develop the Inis Ealga Marine Energy Park project, DP Energy has partnered with Iberdrola.
