Gamesa has signed two firm orders to supply 290MW in North America: 100MW in Mexico and 190MW in the USA.
In the USA, Gamesa has reached an agreement with EDP Renováveis (EDPR) for the supply of 95 Gamesa’s G114-2.0MW turbines to the Waverly wind farm in Coffey County, Kansas. The project is part of the framework agreement reached between both companies for the supply of up to 450MW in the US through 2016. The turbines are slated for delivery in the third quarter of 2015 and the project is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2015. These 95 turbines will incorporate Gamesa’s MaxPower package of hardware and software modifications that increases the power output of the turbines from 2.0MW up to 2.1MW.
In Mexico, Gamesa has signed a new contract for the supply of 100MW of its turbines to a big utility. Under the terms of the contract Gamesa will supply and install 50 G97-2.0MW turbines at a wind farm located in central Mexico. The wind turbines are scheduled for delivery during the first quarter of 2015 and the wind farm is expected to be commissioned during the last quarter of 2015.
