Gamesa Eólica has subscribed four contracts with the Portuguese firm Tecneira S.A. for the supply of 30 Gamesa model G83-2.0MW wind turbines, which will mean the installation of a total power output of 60MW in Portugal. These contracts, which in financial terms amount to a figure approaching € 46 million, include the supply of the wind turbines, overseeing their installation and their commissioning, and also their subsequent maintenance. Of the 30 wind turbines ordered, 20 are to be delivered to the Penamacor 1 and Penamacor 3(A)-Oeste wind farms, in the district of Castelo Blanco, in eastern Portugal. The Sobral II and Arruda 1 wind farms, located close to Lisbon, will receive seven and three wind turbines respectively. The beginning of assembly work on the four wind farms is scheduled for early 2006.
