341 wind turbines producing 1,000MW will be installed in an area of 245 km2 in the London Array within the next four years.
Germanischer Lloyd has been commissioned to assess all relevant site conditions including bathymetry, wind, waves and ice data, tide, scour and marine growth for the first 175 turbine locations as well as the assessment of the extend and the results of the soil investigations. The wind farm is located more than 20 kilometres from Kent and Essex coasts in the outer Thames Estuary in a water depth off up to 23 metres. The London Array offshore wind park will be the largest offshore wind farm in the UK developed and built by London Array Limited, a cooperation between E.on, Shell WindEnergy and DONG Energy.
