AGL Energy Limited (AGL) has welcomed the decision by the Victorian Minister for Planning Rob Hulls, to grant planning approval for the proposed 330MW Macarthur Wind Farm (Australia), one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
There are still a number of steps to be taken before AGL is in a position to make a final investment decision. However, AGL is delighted with achieving this first step in the process and with the Victorian Government's positive disposition towards renewable generation, in particular the recent implementation of the VRET Scheme. AGL expects to announce a final decision on the Macarthur Wind Farm project within the next 12 months.
