Manitoba Hydro Board accepts the RFP proposal from St. Joseph Wind Farm Inc., owned by Babcock & Brown Canada ULC, to develop a 300MW wind farm, at St. Joseph near Letellier in southern Manitoba, Canada.

The project is subject to regulatory approvals and execution of a power purchase agreement with construction expected to start in 2009 and power deliveries starting as early as 2011. The exact schedule will depend upon the availability of materials and equipment for the wind turbines and related transmission facilities. The project is worth over CAN$ 800 million and will generate electricity from 130 turbines.?It will result in CAN$ 300 million in operational expenditures, CAN$ 70 million in local landholder payments and CAN$ 198 million in provincial and municipal revenues over the life of the project.
