The Public Regulation Commission (PRC) voted to approve the location control permit for Pattern Development’s Corona Wind Projects in a 4-0 vote. As a result, construction can begin on an estimated 950 wind turbines, to produce 2,200MW of power.
The Corona Wind Project will provide long-term financial benefits to the region. According to an economic impact report developed by accounting firm Moss Adams, the Corona Project will generate US$ 3.8 billion of total impact, result in the hiring of hundreds of workers during construction and support approximately 100 jobs once it is operational. The Corona Wind Projects are expected to be in operation by the end of 2020.
