Progression Hawaii Offshore Wind, a company formed by Progression Energy and a group of Hawaiian investors, has proposed building a 400MW wind farm off the coast of Hawaii.
The US$ 1.6 billion project would be located near the island of Oahu and would connect to its electricity grid. Progression Energy said it has equity backers and that it is financing the development off of its balance sheet. The company plans to submit its formal lease application with the BOEM by the end of the year.
