Renewable Energy Systems (RES) has announced the completion of the Bluestem Wind Project located in Beaver County, Oklahoma, USA. The project, which consists of 60 Vestas V117-3.3MW turbines, will distribute power via OG&E’s transmission system and the project is expected to generate approximately 845,000 MWh per year.
RES developed the project and also served as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor. The project is RES’ seventh operational wind farm in Oklahoma and the first in the state for Exelon Generation, who purchased the project in December 2015. In December of 2015, Google announced a power purchase agreement with Bluestem Wind, advancing Google’s goal to provide 100 per cent of its energy from renewable resources.
