The heavy-lift ship MV Rickmers Hamburg recently called at the port of San Francisco with a unique cargo - a shipment of windturbine blades manufactured in Europe for GE Energy.

The blades are destined for enXco, Inc.'s project to partially re-power an existing wind operation near Rio Vista, California, where ninety smaller wind turbines are slated to be replaced by six 1.5 MW turbines. When completed, the project - scheduled for completion late next month - will generate 9 megawatts (MW) of wind energy (source: The CalTrade Report).
