Siemens Energy has received an order for the supply of 68 wind turbines with a capacity of 2.3MW each. The purchaser is SSE Renewables (SSER).
The Griffin wind power project is located approximately 30 kilometres northwest of Perth in the Scottish Highlands. The wind power plant will have a capacity of 156MW upon its completion in 2012. The scope of supply includes the delivery, installation and commissioning of the turbines. Of the 68 turbines, 61 will have a 101 metre rotor and seven will have a 93 metre rotor. Siemens will also provide services for turbine operation and maintenance for an initial period of 5 years.
