STX France has been awarded the order for the design, construction, installation and commissioning of the 309MW Rentel offshore substation, to be installed at circa 32 kilometres off the Belgian coast.
STX France will perform the design, fabrication, offshore installation and commissioning of the monopile type foundation (approx. 1600 tonnes), the substation topside (approx. 1200 tonnes) including high voltage electrical equipment. Delivery is due for 2018. Design activities have already started, and construction is expected to start from Q4 2016 onwards.
