Wood Group’s clean energy business has been chosen to carry out power performance testing [PPT] on the Norwegian Fosen Vind wind power project. The 1,000MW Fosen Vind project, which is located in central Norway on the peninsula of Fosen, the island of Hitra and in Snillfjord, comprises six onshore wind farms.
The project will see Wood Group’s clean energy team undertake the installation of 29 guyed lattice met masts, data monitoring and analysis for the site calibration phase. This will be followed by the installation of power monitoring equipment fitted to a number of the wind turbine generators for the power curve test phase. It is expected that the wind farms, which will generate 3.4 TWh power annually, will be completed and commissioned by 2020.
