Emergya Wind Technologies (EWT) has been declared bankrupt. The company was founded in 2004 as a continuation of wind turbine manufacturer Lagerweij. EWT is best known for producing medium-sized direct-drive wind turbines with a capacity of up to 1 MW. More than 600 of its turbines have been installed worldwide.
In 2023, EWT employed 160 full-time staff and installed 36 wind turbines, generating revenue of over €58 million but recording a net loss of €3.1 million. The company attributes its bankruptcy to financial difficulties, partly due to developments in the United States. Its subsidiaries—EWT bv, EWT Assembly, and EWT Rotor Blades—have also been declared bankrupt.
