Estonian wind turbine manufacturer Eleon has signed an agreement with the Chinese state-owned company Chinese State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) to establish a joint venture for the manufacturing of Eleon wind turbines in China.
 
CSSC is a shipbuilding company, whose subsidiary Haizhuang Windpower has been manufacturing wind turbines and making investments in wind farms since 2004. One of the key persons in the joint venture called Eleon China is Kim Kronborg Christiansen, who was vice president of wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Manufacturing from 2007-2013. Eleon AS is an Estonian company established in 2007 that has developed and manufactures multi megawatt class (offshore) wind turbines.
