Irish offshore consultancy, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG) have bolstered their existing team with the addition of three new members of staff. GDG has welcomed Principal Geotechnical Engineer, David Donaghy, Principal Geophysicist, Dr. Lucy Catt and Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Joe Freshwater.
David Donaghy, a Geotechnical Engineer, Chartered Geologist (GSL and European) and Registered Ground Engineering Professional (ICE), brings with him 20 years’ experience internationally in both onshore and offshore areas of geotechnics, specialising in offshore geotechnical investigation and engineering including the planning and supervision of geotechnical investigation campaigns, laboratory testing regimes and site characterisation. Prior to joining GDG, David worked as Head of Geoscience Competence Centre, focusing on the technical aspects and optimisation of geoscience methods and deliverables for multiple surveys spanning conventional wind, floating wind, cable routes and pipelines.
Dr Lucy Catt has worked on development and optimisation of ground models for offshore wind farms since 2010, for projects in the North Sea, Irish Sea, Taiwan Strait, and Eastern U.S. Seaboard. She has also provided geophysical Owner’s Engineer services for multiple wind farms, primarily in the Dutch sector.
Joe Freshwater has over ten years’ experience in offshore geotechnical site investigation industry for a variety of different Oil & Gas and offshore wind projects, in the North Sea, West Africa, Mediterranean, Taiwan and East Coast USA.
