A wind farm with a size of up to 1,750MW will be installed offshore in Hecate Strait, Canada.
NaiKun Wind Development Inc. has awarded Germanischer Lloyd with the project certification of the wind farm. The project certification according to the GL Rules and Guidelines for Offshore installations builds on the type approval and accompanies the implementation of the wind farm at sea. The impartial constructional supervision includes design reviews and the specific inspection of the manufacturing processes, the transport of the components and the installation of the equipment as well as the initial operation. On an area of 550 square kilometres, NaiKun plans to build the first phase of their offshore wind farm project producing 320MW. The whole project will consist of five phases generating in total 1,750MW.
