GWEC launched its new South East Asia Task Force, a tool to promote wind energy in the emerging markets in the region. The group will act to engage governments and stakeholders, produce research and policy papers and much more in order to assist in the growth of wind and other renewable energy sectors in the region.
Chaired by Mark Hutchinson (Vice President, Head of Power and Renewables Consulting, Wood Mackenzie), the Task Force will bring together industry players and provide a platform in South East Asia to accelerate wind and renewables development by applying a holistic approach to unlock the renewable energy potential in the region. Over the next two years, the Task Force will focus its efforts on Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia to begin its activities, while monitoring the growth potential of other markets.
