The Indian facility of Hansen Transmissions International announces it has received certification for international quality standard ISO 9001:2008 for its activities in Coimbatore.

This has been achieved in just over a year, since the plant became operational in September 2008. Hansen Drives operates a state of the art, fully integrated gearbox manufacturing facility dedicated to the wind turbine generator market, and employs approximately 350 people. In terms of production, assembly, and testing, this entails operating CNC machines, an in-house heat treatment facility and test rigs to test and validate gearboxes. Preparation for certification took 12 months and was orchestrated by a core team of 15 people representing all functions.
