Macquarie Asset Management has introduced Aula Energy, a new onshore renewable energy venture. Aula Energy's focus is on developing, constructing, and operating utility-scale wind, solar, and integrated batteries in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Chad Hymas will lead the business, which begins with an initial portfolio projecting a capacity of 4 GW* from planned projects. These developments are expected in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania, with details to be disclosed as they advance. Aula Energy's business model spans the entire project lifecycle, adopting a "develop, build, own, operate" approach while consistently seeking new project opportunities. Aula Energy joins Macquarie Asset Management's suite of specialist businesses, responding to the increasing demand for diversified renewable investment portfolios in Australia and internationally. This suite includes Blue Leaf Energy (a pan-Asian renewable energy platform established in 2018), Cero Generation (a European solar energy developer formed in 2021), Corio Generation (a global specialist offshore wind portfolio company initiated in 2022), and Eku Energy (a global battery storage platform launched in 2022).
