At the beginning of March, Frans van der Stel from Emerson Industrial Automation was confirmed as the new Vice President/General Manager Wind Energy of SSB Wind Systems, responsible for further expanding its worldwide wind business.
The company, with headquarters in Salzbergen, Germany is a global player in the area of electric pitch systems for wind turbines. Frans van der Stel has occupied several positions in the area of numerical controls at General Electric (GE) including GE Sales Manager Germany. He was also vice president of the German business division of Fanuc Europe S.A. from 1986 to 1987 after which he was named Managing Director of GE Fanuc Germany. Most recently, van der Stel was employed as Vice President Central Europe for Control Techniques GmbH. Frans van der Stel takes over the management of SSB Wind Systems from Dr. Gisbert Schulze who left the company at his own request at the end of March.
