Nordic Windpower's CEO Tom Carbone and Governor Jay Nixon of Missouri have announced that the company's headquarters and assembly facility will relocate to Kansas City, USA. Gov. Nixon announced that his administration has authorized a US$ 5.6 million incentive package for Nordic Windpower USA.
The incentive package includes resources from the state’s Community Development Block Grant, new jobs training, and employee recruitment and referral programs, as well as sales tax exemptions for equipment and machinery purchased. As a result of the incentive package, Nordic Windpower will be able to move forward with plans to relocate its headquarters and operations from California and Idaho to facilities near Kansas City International Airport. According to company plans, the move will involve a capital investment of nearly US$ 16 million and the creation of more than 200 local jobs over the next six years.
