Michael Thorndahl Simmelsgaard is the new managing director for Ramboll’s global energy Division. Michael T. Simmelsgaard is replacing Thomas Rand who has decided to retire after ten years as managing director for Energy and 41 years in the company.Thomas Rand will continue in the company in a role as senior advisor for the new Managing Director as well as the Ramboll Group.
Michael T. Simmelsgaard comes from a position as head of Offshore Wind in Vattenfall, where he has been globally responsible for Vattenfall’s offshore wind activities covering market development, engineering, design, construction, operations and asset management of large-scale wind assets. In addition, he has gained industry experience in utilities and energy systems from roles in Ørsted, Siemens and Danfoss.
