The new identity reflects the reality of where wind is in Europe today. We’re now a mainstream and mature technology providing over 11% of Europe’s electricity. We generate €67bn turnover every year. We’re a leading European exporter. We support over 250,000 jobs. We’re a huge industry. We’re WindEurope ,said Giles Dickson, Chief Executive Officer of WindEurope.
With the new identity comes a new Chairman. WindEurope has elected Francesco Venturini, Chief Executive Officer of Enel Green Power, as its new chairman. Mr. Venturini was elected for an 18-month term by WindEurope’s Board of Directors, which is comprised of corporate members, national associations and other organisations. Mr. Venturini will succeed current WindEurope Chairman Dr. Markus Tacke, CEO of Siemens Wind Power & Renewables, who has served in the post since October 2014.
