TotalEnergies has signed an agreement to fully acquire the VSB Group from its previous majority owner, Partners Group, and the company's founder. Based in Germany, VSB has a project pipeline of over 18GW in wind energy, photovoltaics, and battery storage, as well as over 475 MW in operation.
Founded in 1996, VSB Group operates in 21 locations across Germany, France, Poland, Finland, Italy, and Croatia. The company is a vertically integrated developer in the renewable energy sector in Europe, with its core business in the development of onshore wind and photovoltaic parks, battery storage, their operation, and managing its own parks as a growing independent power producer. The completion of the transaction is still subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities.
