Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced the guidelines for the new energy auction to be held on September 30.
The government confirmed that the auction (Auction A-5) is for hydro, wind energy, solar, biomass, coal, natural gas and solid urban waste power projects. In this tender the government will award power purchase agreements (PPA) with a 15-year term for wind and solar, a 25-year term for hydropower and a 20-year term for the remaining sources. Expected commercial operations for the projects is January 1, 2026.
