The German onshore wind power market posted strong growth in the first half of 2014, according to the figures collated on behalf of the German Engineering Federation VDMA Power Systems and the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) by Deutsche WindGuard.
Some 1,723MW of capacity was newly installed on land, equivalent to 66 per cent growth over the 1,038MW newly installed in the first half of the previous year. . It is now expected the country's wind sector will install a total capacity of 3,700MW this year, higher than the earlier forecast of about 3,000MW.
