Oregonians have an additional month to provide input on the future of floating offshore wind energy in the state, including an option to pause development. State officials have extended the deadline for comments on the Oregon Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap from 3 April to 27 April.
The document will then be submitted to state lawmakers to inform potential energy policy proposals during the 2027 legislative session.
The roadmap outlines four possible pathways:
- No offshore wind energy.
- Development of a full-scale offshore wind energy industry.
- Economic participation only, such as manufacturing or research and development, without hosting projects.
- A pilot offshore wind energy project to build experience before any decision on large-scale development.
