AREVA Wind will install a prototype its new M5000-135 Turbine. The evolution of the M5000-116 5MW turbines is mainly characterized by its larger rotor diameter.
With its 66 meter long blades the diameter has been increased to 135 meter and the swept area reaches 14.326 sqm. The 5MW wind turbine will have a height from ground to hub of 130 meter. The main components, which were built in Bremerhaven, will be brought to the installation site in summer. AREVA Wind assumes that the installation of the wind energy converter will be completed in third quarter of 2013.
